Call for Workshops
The BNCOD 2009 conference is interested in hosting workshops on themes related to the conference. In previous years BNCOD has hosted workshops in Teaching and Learning in Databases and in Biodiversity Informatics. These themes and other areas are welcome. The workshops provide a forum for presentation of finished work, work in progress, position papers, application oriented papers and in depth discussion on a particular topic of interest. The workshops will take place on Monday, 6th July 2009 at the University of Birmingham, UK, the day before the start of the main conference.
Please email bncod09org@cs.bham.ac.uk at any time to discuss your ideas for a workshop.
Publication Arrangements
The publication of workshop proceedings will be at the discretion of the workshop organisers and any potential publishers with whom they may have contact. The BNCOD organising committee is happy to be involved with such discussion and it may be possible to publish a selection of workshop papers in the Springer LNCS BNCOD 2009 proceedings. Should publication of the workshop proceedings not be required, the BNCOD organising committee is happy to assist with reproduction of bound copies of the proceedings for use at the workshop.
Deadlines
| Workshop Proposals: | 12th February 2009 |
| Notification of Acceptance: | 19th February 2009 |
Once the workshop proposal has been accepted, organisers will need to work out a detailed schedule to allow for contributions to be solicited, reviewed and submitted in camera ready copy, all in time for presentation and publication according to the BNCOD schedule. The BNCOD organising committee will be happy to help with this.
Workshop Proposals
The final proposal should identify the organisers, the topic, any special requirements and an outline schedule for the event.
