CARDIS 2022, November 7 - 9, 2022, in-person event

21st Smart Card Research and Advanced Application Conference

CARDIS has been the venue for security experts from industry and academia to exchange on security of smart cards and related applications since 1994. Smart cards play an increasingly important role in our day-to-day live through their use in banking cards, SIM cards, electronic passports, and IoT (Internet of Things) devices. It is thus naturally of utmost importance to understand their security features and to develop sound protocols and countermeasures while keeping reasonable performances. In this respect, CARDIS aims to gather security experts from industry, academia, and standardization bodies to make steps forward in the field of embedded security.

The 21st edition of CARDIS is organized by the Centre for Cyber Security and Privacy of the University of Birmingham in Birmingham, UK. CARDIS 2022 will be accompanied by a one-day Fall School event.

The slides for part 1 and part 2 of the workshop are available.

A railway strike was recently announced to take place during the conference dates. This will likely affect West Midlands Railway which operate in Birmingham. You can find current information on the National Rail industrial action website. Please plan in advance, consider using a bus/taxi or renting an e-scooter or bike when travelling from/to the city centre, and allow extra time should you come by train.

The pre-proceedings (password-protected) are now available: ZIP

You can now download the VM for VirtualBox (5.8 GB) and UTM (11 GB). If you want to effectively participate in the workshop on day 1, it's best to grab them before, as the download on the day may take too much time. The installation instruction are also available.
